Drag Race Philippines

Filipino drag excellence. This is what is shown in every episode of Drag Race Philippines as the local queens come in and out in their gorgeous makeup looks and shimmering outfits while crushing challenges that put their charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent to the test. Hosted by transformation queen Paolo Ballesteros, the RuPaul’s Drag Race local spinoff has helped push drag culture to the mainstream.

Drag Race tells stories from each queen, including the struggles and realities of being part of the LGBTQ+ community in the country. The show has sparked conversations about acceptance, identity, family, and representation since it premiered in 2022. More than the glitz and glam, Drag Race breaks down stereotypes of what people know of drag queens and highlights the queer performers in a whole new light. So far, the country’s franchise has crowned three Filipino drag superstars: Precious Paula Nicole, Captivating KatKat, and Maxie Andreison. It has also given queens like Marina Summers and Eva Le Queen a platform to take Filipino drag to global iterations of the competition. At the heart of it all, Drag Race Philippines shows that Filipino drag is world class.

Drag Race Philippines is streaming on HBO Go and Wow Presents Plus.
