Labubu, Hirono, CRYBABY and more: What to expect at PH's first-ever Pop Mart pop-up store
Attention, collectors and enthusiasts! The opening of Pop Mart's first-ever pop-up store in the Philippines is right around the corner.
ICYMI, the Manila pop-up store is opening on Nov. 2 at Level 2, North Entertainment Mall at the SM Mall of Asia, with figurines such as the popular Labubu, Hirono, CRYBABY, and more on shelves.
Jeremy Lee, Pop Mart Southeast Asia Go-To Market Director, told PhilSTAR L!fe that the opening of the pop-up in the country comes as Southeast Asia is filled with lots of young people and folks in the creative industry.
"I think there's a huge affinity with the creatives, with creatives, being attuned to design or fashion and styles. That's why I think the Philippines is a great market to come into, especially [because] Pop Mart is all about art, entertainment, and culture," he said.
The space features a life-size statue of Hirono in front. You'll be greeted by rows of shelves stocked with blind boxes for different characters and figurines.
Above them, are some of the collectibles out of the box (but some are in glass casings), so you can get a closer look at what you'll be getting.
Some figurines you can get—apart from Labubu—are The Monsters, SKULLPANDA, CRYBABY versions of the PowerPuff Girls, PUCKY, and Peach Riot.
There are also figurines of DC heroes Batman and Shazam as well as other films and TV series like Lord of The Rings, Star Wars, Marvel heroes, the Minions from Despicable Me, SpongeBob SquarePants, and Disney.
Lee told L!fe that the Manila pop-up will also feature exclusives like the Labubu Sketch and Space Mollys. Down the line, the brand even hopes to partner with local artists to create Philippine-exclusive collectibles.
"I think this is a good chance for us to get in tune with the creative industry," he said. "There's a lot of talent and potential in Southeast Asia that the world has yet to see."
With figurines like Labubu flying off shelves and always selling out fast, Lee shared some tips to get your hands on Pop Mart collectibles.
"For all launches and drops, we [announce] on social media... But at some point in time, there's a reason why they're exclusives or limited editions," he shared.
In addition to the coming pop-up store, Lee told L!fe that they are expecting to open at least two to three more stores in 2025.
The Pop Mart pop-up store is located at the second floor of the North Entertainment Mall at the SM Mall of Asia.
