'A Quiet Place' game can pick up real-world noise from your microphone
The upcoming A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead will have a fitting feature that will immerse players into the game.
Developer Saber Interactive said that the game will be able to use your microphone to pick up noise that monsters can hear.
ICYDK, A Quiet Place, a horror film released in 2018, is set in a post-apocalyptic world where sightless aliens with sharp hearing have killed most of the humans. Survivors navigate the world without making a sound to avoid alerting the terrifying creatures of their presence.
Like in the movie, the world in the game is riddled with sound-sensitive monsters. The story will follow a college student named Alex who suffers from asthma. Together with her boyfriend Martin, she travels across the land to find a safe haven for herself and her family.
In addition to sound in-game, A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead has an opt-in feature to use your microphone to pick up noises from real life.
Since the first film, A Quiet Place has spawned a sequel and a spin-off, A Quiet Place: Day One starring Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn. The first and second films starred Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Noah Jupe, Millicent Simmonds, CAde Woodward, and Leon Russom.
A third film is set to be released in 2025.
The new game will be available on Oct. 17 on Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox Series X and S.
