Sean "Diddy" Combs has renewed his efforts to appeal a judge's decision denying him bail as he awaits trial.

Combs' legal team submitted a notice of appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in the US District Court in Manhattan on Sept. 30. He sought to overturn US District Judge Andrew Carter's decision to deny the bail package proposed by the rapper's defense team, which included a $50 million (almost P3 billion) bond.

The proposed bail package also included the surrender of his passport, home detention, weekly drug testing, and a visitor log.

Carter ruled to keep Combs behind bars as he might pose a danger to the community and witnesses in the case.

The rapper was arrested on Sept. 16 and faces charges of sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transporting victims across state lines to engage in constitution. Combs pleaded not guilty.

He previously appealed for bail twice, with the first judge, US Magistrate Robyn Tarnofsky saying that Combs paid a risk if he were released.

"I don't believe the counsel has the ability to control you, given the very significant concerns I have, particularly because of substance abuse and what seems like anger issues," Tarnofsky said to Combs and his legal counsel, as per a transcript obtained by USA Today. "The danger, I think, is quite serious."

More than 100 people, including dozens of children, who say they were victims of rape, sexual assault, and sexual exploitation at the hands of Combs, are suing the rapper.

If convicted, Combs could face a maximum of life in prison.
