Why Doug and Cheska Kramer gave their daughter Scarlett a Rolex for her 13th birthday

Doug and Cheska Kramer had a special gift for their daughter Scarlett who celebrated her 13th birthday on Nov. 28.

In a YouTube vlog, the celebrity couple shared that they gave their now-teen daughter a Rolex, which Scarlett was surprised to get.

"It's so nice!" she said all smiles, looking at the timepiece with a slim strap and silver dial. "I love the watch. I love how you made it simple so I can wear it with anything."

In the later part of the video, the couple explained why they gave their daughter such a gift.

When their kids were younger, they would give them toys, dresses, and sometimes family trips, Doug said. They've also given them other precious presents.

"We've also given them jewelry," Cheska added. "And bags. [Even] our parents[,] they would also give our kids jewelry. Something that they can take with them as they grow up.”

Cheska said she herself has passed on jewelry she received from her mom.

"Parang siyang naging tradition namin. My mother-in-law has [also] given me jewelry, and then later on, I'll pass it on to my daughters."

This isn't the first time they gifted their kids with an expensive watch as they also gave their eldest, Kendra, a Rolex for her 13th birthday.

“The reason being is, our kids work hard. They deserve it. School, they study, they do their sports. We figured, why give them a bag? After a few years, you don’t know what condition the bag will be. Or let’s say branded shoes or whatever," the former basketball player said.

"You know a gift like this is you can say timeless. It’s an investment for them that they can use when they’re not just 13," he continued.
