A woman surprised plane passengers when she suddenly opened the aircraft's emergency exit and then climbed onto its wing.

According to Fox News, passengers were beginning to exit Alaska Airlines flight 323 after it landed when the unidentified female passenger became "anxious" and went towards the emergency exit over the wing.

After opening it, the woman then climbed out onto the wing of the plane "due to her anxiety."

International Airport Media Relations Manager Perry Cooper told the news outlet that when the Port of Seattle emergency dispatch was alerted of the situation, firefighters came and assisted the passenger in getting off the wing.

She was then sent by the police crisis team to the hospital for medical evaluation, where doctors determined that she did not suffer from any injuries due to her actions.

Cooper also said that no other operations were affected by the incident.

A spokesperson for Alaska Airlines assured the public that the "matter was safely resolved" and that they are now working with their crew and airport officials to gather more details about what led to the situation.

"We thank our employees for their swift response and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused our guests," the spokesperson said.
