Sophiya Montaño
Sophiya Montaño is a program staff at the Women’s Legal and Human Rights Bureau, Inc. Currently, she is the coordinator for WLB’s Iskwela Peminista (Feminist School), aiming to build the capacity of indigenous women and girls, rural women and girls, women and girls with disability and LBTQIA+ women and girls towards becoming advocates of ending gender-based violence, particularly sexual violence, through intergenerational learning and movement building. Raised by two moms, her commitment as an activist grew not only for gender advocacies, but also women’s rights.
