Iconic '90s love team Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin together now in Singapore
Iconic '90s "love team" Jolina Magdangal and Marvin Agustin are together now in Singapore, sending a wave of nostalgia anew to their fans.
Magdangal and Agustin have posted on their respective Instagram accounts their shared moments in the Lion's City.
"Singapore… here we come!" she wrote, as Agustin can be seen with his arm across her shoulder.
Magdangal also posted a selfie video greeting, where Agustin can be seen winking and doing wacky poses.
"Grabe, nakita ko si Marvin Agustin, kasingpula ng cochi niya," she said, referring to his cochinillo business.
Agustin, meanwhile, shared that he's on a "date night" with his "labtim," noting that Singapore has reopened to tourists starting March 4.
In another selfie video, Magdangal and Agustin are seen in light blue shirts.
"Sabi ko na nga ba may sumisingit na naman," Magdangal said in her video, laughing. "Tapos na tayo sa isang kainan, at ilan pa," as Agustin shouted with joy, "Ten!"
"Tingnan mong bata ka ang dumi-dumi mo na," she joked, "isa pa lang kinainan natin. Let's do this, Marvin!"
Agustin also shared a video in which Magdangal teaches him some steps for a dance number.
"Napagalitan tuloy ako ni Teacher J!" Agustin wrote, followed by a grinning emoji. "Check @mariajolina_ig ‘s tiktok for my debut dance performance."
Magdangal shared the dance video in question, a 25-second clip originally posted on TikTok, set to Icona Pop's 2015 banger, "Clap Snap."
"First time ni @marvinagustin sumayaw sa tiktok!!!!" she wrote. "Labtim, parang pa-lolo na ang galawan ha," followed by five tears of joy emojis.
In their respective posts, they've also tagged the Singapore Tourism Board's official account, Visit Singapore. The STB earlier featured Magdangal and Agustin last Valentine's Day for a cooking episode, titled "Zi Char or Char Lang?"
Zi char or cze char, according to the Michelin Guide, is a "uniquely Singaporean dining term that refers to "an extensive mish-mash of dishes cooked to order, based loosely on Chinese cooking, with plenty of Malay, Indian and Peranakan influences."
Char, meanwhile, is the shorthand for the Pinoy internet lingo "charot" or joke.
Magdangal and Agustin's followers couldn't hide their kilig in the comments section of their respective posts.
"Jusko ang cute ninyo!!!! Legends na forever young!!!!" Kapamilya actress Bianca Gonzales wrote.
"Wohoooooo," Pinoy Big Brother winner Melai Cantiveros said, followed by multiple praise and clap emojis.
"OMGGG THIS IS REALL NA!! MY MARJO HEART," a fan wrote, a portmanteau of their first names.
The love team has starred in several television shows and movies, including Gimik, Labs Ko si Babe, and Flames: The Movie. The undeniable chemistry of the duo earned them many fans, many of whom hoped that Agustin and Magdangal would develop a relationship in real life.
In 2015, Magdangal admitted she was “crazy in love” with Agustin, though admitted it was a puppy love kind of feeling. Agustin, for his part, said he was afraid of breaking her partner’s heart.
Magdangal has been married to musician Mark Escueta of Rivermaya since 2011. The couple now have two kids.
In 2019, it was said that a much-awaited Magdangal and Agustin reunion movie is already in the works.
It, however, has been put on the backburner. It wasn't immediately clear if their recent Singapore posts have anything to do with their would-be reunion movie.
