BTS’ V drops teaser and release date for new solo track 'Blue'
Knock knock, ARMY, another track from BTS’ V is on the way! V released the first teaser for his forthcoming music video for Blue on Aug. 22.
The teaser, posted on the HYBE LABEL's official YouTube page, shows the BTS member walking down an apartment hallway and knocking on a door labeled “C.” The scene then cuts to black before revealing the word “Blue,” followed by its release date– Sept. 13.
The song is set to drop almost a week after V, whose real name is Kim Tae-hyung, will release his debut solo album Layover on Sept. 8.
The track, according to BTS’ label BIGHIT MUSIC, can be described as an homage to old-school R&B, given a modern twist. It is one of the six tracks featured in his upcoming solo album “Layover,” which will be released on Sept. 8.
In a letter addressed to his fans on fan community platform WeVerse, V said that he’s been making solid preparations for the upcoming album.
“I’ve been making solid preparations so to boast/stand out how a little kid among 7 members (made it). In the future, I will sing, dance, and do great activities for a long time, for the sake of my family, friends, members, and my dear ARMYs,” his letter read.
V has been active since the announcement of his solo debut. Before releasing the teaser for Blue, he had already dropped music videos for Love Me Again and Rainy Days– both tracks topping the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart for the week of Aug. 19.
The BTS vocalist, also dubbed the group's "final weapon," is the last of the group to release a solo album after some members began their military service. Recently, BTS’ leader RM reassured fans that the group will “get back and reunite” in 2025.
