WATCH: Kim Seon Ho is an uncanny chaser hunting a Fil-Korean boxer in 'Childe' trailer
Kim Seon Ho is set to make his big screen debut in the upcoming film Childe, and it looks like Seonhohadas (his fandom) are off to a ride like never before.
Next Entertainment World (NEW) on May 15 released the first trailer for the new action noir film showing Kim Seon Ho as Gwi Gong-ja aka "Childe," a mysterious chaser hunting down an aspiring Filipino-Korean boxer named Marco (portrayed by Kang Tae-joo).
He lives in the Philippines with his mother and earns a living by going to illegal stadiums. Things take a different turn when his mother gets sick, prompting Marco to travel to Korea to look for his estranged father.
Chaos ensues when he arrives in the country and discovers that he is the target of a group of dangerous individuals, which includes the "Childe."
The film's action-packed trailer showcases Kim Seon Ho's acting prowess in his complex character, which is starkly different from his good-boy roles in his previous K-dramas like Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and Start-Up.
Directed by Park Hoon-Jung, Childe also features renowned Hallyu stars Kim Kang-woo and Go Ara.
The film is set to premiere in South Korea on June 21. Local media company CreaZion Studios, meanwhile, announced that the film is slated for release in Philippine theaters on July 5.
Childe's launch comes months after Kim Seon Ho visited the Philippines for his "One, Two, Three, Smile" fan meet held at the Mall of Asia Arena on Jan. 22.
