A tiger is an agile hunter and a powerful force; it’s no wonder these Korean celebs who were born on the Year of the Tiger embody these qualities perfectly.

As we welcome the Year of the Water Tiger, it’s time to collect the best luck in your love life, health, career, and money. What better way to manifest good fortune than by channeling your inner K-pop and K-drama icons who were born on the Year of the Tiger?

Of course, it seems impossible to follow in their footsteps, but it doesn’t hurt to be inspired by how they became iconic in their own right. Without further ado, here are the most popular K-celebs who were born in the Year of the Tiger.

Year of the Fire Tiger (Feb. 9, 1986, to Jan. 28, 1987)

Boa: Nov. 5, 1986

Bow down to the Queen of K-pop! Born in November 1986, this soloist is one of the most successful Korean stars of all time. Boa is a powerful force to be reckoned with in the industry with her jaw-dropping dance and vocal skills. She debuted at the age of 13 and has since been an influential figure even among K-pop stars themselves.

Lee Seunggi: Jan. 13, 1987

Acting, singing, and hosting—Lee Seunggi can do it all. This triple threat entertainer and all-around charmer stole the hearts of fans with his sweet smile and talent. Aside from making a name for himself as an actor and singer, he was a member of the survival variety show 2 Days 1 Night and host of talk show Strong Heart

Super Junior’s Siwon: April 7, 1986

The tall, statuesque Choi Siwon is an integral member of the K-pop boy group Super Junior as the center. With his dashing looks, he’s one of the few performers who can catch your attention with his eyes. The singer-actor is currently a UNICEF regional ambassador for East Asia and the Pacific since November 2018 and a representative for Audi Korea.

Year of the Earth Tiger (Jan. 28, 1998, to Feb. 15, 1999)

TWICE’s Dahyun: May 28, 1998

The moment Kim Dahyun flapped her arms like an eagle in the reality show Sixteen—we knew she was a shoo-in for TWICE’s lineup. The girl group’s lead rapper, stan attractor, and variety show extraordinaire is also known for creating the choreography of Touchdown. Dahyun is also one of TWICE’s wordsmiths as she wrote the lyrics of the tracks Queen, Bring It Back, and Scandal.

NCT’s Jungwoo: Feb. 19, 1998

Kim Jungwoo is an ace in his own right since he debuted as NCT U’s main vocalist and lead dancer, and NCT 127’s lead vocalist and lead dancer. It’s hard to stand out in a 23-member group (and its many subunits) but Jungwoo proved that his talent can take him far.

Former IZ*ONE and HKT48’s Sakura: March 19, 1998

Conquering the J-pop and K-pop industry? Sounds like a Miyawaki Sakura thing. Sakura started her entertainment career as a J-pop idol at 13 years old until she became one of the most popular members of HKT48 and AKB48. In 2018, she debuted as a member of project girl group IZ*ONE as one of their visual and center trios. As one of the members of HYBE and Source Music’s upcoming girl group, there’s no way for Sakura to go but up.

SEVENTEEN’s Vernon: Feb. 18, 1998

Vernon might be SEVENTEEN’s main rapper, but his singing, dancing, and producing skills shouldn’t be ignored. This Korean-American idol is also known for his dangerous stage presence since he can catch and maintain your attention until the song’s final note.
