Fans of BLACKPINK's Lisa enraged over rude comment of prominent fan account of NewJeans

A prominent fan account of NewJeans is in hot water after they posted a rude comment regarding BLACKPINK member Lisa.

The issue started when celebrity news site Pop Crave posted Lisa's recent pictures where she could be seen enjoying her vacation. NEWJEANS GLOBAL, a global fanbase providing updates about the South Korean girl group, posted a comment that left a bitter taste in the mouth of Lisa's fans.

"She looks terrible," they wrote, adding several emojis of a pile of poo, a vomiting face, and a middle finger in the comment.

The account, which has over 140,000 followers, was met with outrage from Lisa's fans who are demanding an apology for the now-deleted comment. As of writing, the phrase "APOLOGIZE TO LISA" now has more than 260,000 posts on X (formerly Twitter).

One of Lisa's fan accounts posted: "Stop being a coward and take responsibility for your disgusting behaviour and apologize publicly."

In response, NEWJEANS GLOBAL apologized to "fans who feel targeted by this incident" and asked the public to excuse them for their "incompetence." However, this post has also been deleted.

"We would never condone slut-shaming or any type of harassment to anyone," they wrote.

Reiterating that the account was hacked, they added, "We had no control over this incident and we hope you can all understand our frustration with not being able to handle this situation professionally. Our admins are being completely transparent and honest, we would never target a woman or anyone in such a vile manner."

They went on to offer their amends to Lisa for what happened and stressed that the account aims to protect and support young women, not hate them.

"We genuinely apologize from the bottom of our hearts for the damage this hacker has caused. We also apologize to Lisa for this inconvenience, we are not the people who were responsible for this act, our team would never lie about an event like this," they wrote.

NEWJEANS GLOBAL also alleged that they have started receiving death threats from various fan pages, which prompted them to block these accounts.

Despite this, the apology did not seem to quell the rage that Lisa's fans feel over the comment.

"You literally paid for blue check and that includes assurance from the Twitter X that your account would never be hacked unless you allowed them to access to your account," one user wrote.

Another one posed, "You are a global fanbase and a big one at that. Hacked or not, issue an apology for this mess instead of blocking people. Don't be so unprofessional. You're looking more guilty like that."

As of writing, NEWJEANS GLOBAL has deactivated the account.
