Lapillus' Chanty to take indefinite hiatus from group activities due to chronic fatigue syndrome
Lapillus fans won't be seeing Chanty in their group activities anytime soon.
The K-pop group's management, MLD Entertainment, announced on Friday, April 5 that the Filipino-Argentinian member is taking an indefinite hiatus from group activities following her chronic fatigue syndrome diagnosis.
"Chanty has been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome and has seen improvement in her health through continuous treatment and consistent care from her attending doctor," her agency said in a statement posted on X. "However, there is concern that engaging in high-intensity group musical activities may cause the relapse of her symptoms and strain in her health."
MLD Entertainment noted that Chanty "will remain a member of Lapillus and continue her individual activities."
"We will do our best to support the health and recovery of our artist, so we ask for the utmost understanding of the fans," they said. "We humbly ask for warm encouragement and continuous support for the future activities of Lapillus and Chanty."
Aside from Chanty, Lapillus is comprised of Seowon, Yue, Shana, Bessie, and Haeun. The K-pop act is known for their hit track Gratata.
Before being introduced as one of the members of Lapillus, Chanty was a Star Magic Circle Batch 2018 talent who appeared in some Filipino teleseryes and movies, including Familia Blondina and Starla.
