Lilly Jay breaks silence on ex Ethan Slater's romance with Ariana Grande
Lilly Jay has some words for Ariana Grande, the Wicked co-star and alleged girlfriend of her ex-husband Ethan Slater.
Following the news that Ethan has filed for divorce from Lilly, the latter has now spoken up about the alleged affair.
“[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl,” Jay told Page Six. “My family is just collateral damage.”
She told the outlet that she is focused on her child, whom she and Ethan welcomed in August 2022, and being “a good mom.”
Lilly also told TMZ and Daily Mail the same thing, adding that she is set to rebuild a life for her son.
"I'm focused on my son and doing my best to navigate a spotlight I have never wanted or experienced before," she told TMZ, before asking for "privacy" and "respect."
"I am asking for privacy and respect as an individual who is not in the entertainment industry and as a mom. I ask to be left alone to rebuild my life and raise the beautiful boy I gave birth to last year."
An insider told Daily Mail that she, Ethan, and Ariana had hung out together “so many times” in London and claimed that Lilly discovered about the affair after a visit.
"Ariana met their baby and even held him. They had dinners together in London - and Ariana told Lilly that she wanted to have a baby one day and that she couldn't wait to start a family," the source said.
The source said that Lilly and Ethan tried to "put it behind them and work on their marriage," but later discovered that her estranged husband's romance with the singer continued.
"There was a period when they were all going to try and work on their marriages and put the whole thing behind them," the source said. "She thought they were happy. But that did not work out [because Ariana and Ethan] kept the affair going despite [that]."
The news about Ariana dating Ethan first broke on July 20, a few days after it was announced that the former had split with her husband, Dalton Gomez.
Ethan, meanwhile, was married to Lilly since 2018.
