NewJeans and McDonald's collaboration to land in PH this June
The wait is almost over, Filo Bunnies. Your much-anticipated NewJeans and McDonald's collaboration is finally happening.
McDonald's Korea has just revealed that it is partnering with the K-pop girl group for a new campaign that will be launched in 10 different countries across Asia.
Dubbed "NewJeans Chicken Dance Campaign," the project will feature chicken dishes in the fast food chain's menu, which will come in customized packaging. There will also be a brand-new menu item that will debut specifically in South Korea.
Apart from this, local media outlet Soompi reported that Asian Bunnies can expect to see new advertisements starring NewJeans members Minji, Hanni, Danielle, Haerin, and Hyein.
McDonald's Korea announced the news on May 26 through social media graphics made to resemble an old-school flight display board.
It states that the campaign will take off in South Korea on June 2, followed by the Philippines on June 13. It is also set to land in Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan from June 28 to Oct. 25.
Arrival dates for Singapore and Vietnam are yet to be announced.
In a statement released to local media outlets, McDonald's Korea said it hopes that the new campaign would be "a new and unique experience" that would later create "a special memory" for its Asian customers.
The launch of the NewJeans Chicken Dance Campaign comes three months since the rising girl group was introduced as the brand's ambassador on Feb. 24.
At that time, Bunnies in different parts of the world speculated that McDonald's would soon be releasing a "NewJeans Meal," and clamored for its global launch.
Rumors aside, NewJeans has so far been working with the brand as endorser of its McCrispy chicken burger that is exclusively available in South Korea.
