Sandra Bullock reportedly ‘heartbroken’ and 'upset' over ‘The Blind Side’ issue
Sandra Bullock was reportedly “devastated” following the controversy of the Oscar-winning film The Blind Side, noting how the “hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth” is now overshadowed by a “completely different perspective.”
According to a report by Daily Mail, an insider close to the 59-year-old actress has revealed that Sandra “hates” how the supposed “wonderful story” has now been tainted.
“She hates that such a wonderful story, a spectacular movie, and a spectacular time in her life now has been tainted,” an insider said.
“Now people won't watch it and if they do, they will have a completely different reaction to its original intention,” it added.
Sandra played Leigh Anne Tuohy in the 2009 film, the matriarch who “adopted” the homeless Michael Oher. The Hollywood actress also earned her first Oscars and Golden Globes awards in the best actress category for the said film.
“There was so much hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth and now that has been questioned, it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life that was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective,” it concluded.
This comes after the 37-year-old former football player Michael Oher, the subject of the film, decided to terminate the conservatorship that began when he was 18, after finding out that he was not actually legally adopted by the Tuohys.
He also claimed that “he unknowingly signed away" the rights to his life story to 20th Century Fox in 2007.” And that he got nothing despite the movie earning over $300 million (P17 billion) worldwide.
The source also added how Sandra “is putting up a strong face” on top of issues, including the passing of her boyfriend, Bryan Randall who suffered from ALS for three years.
“Now she is heartbroken in a different way with all the fallout from the Michael Oher news,” the source added.
Sandra Bullock is also known for her roles in hit films The Proposal, Ocean’s 8, and Bird Box, among others.
