Comedian Pete Davidson checked into wellness facility for mental health—report

American comedian Pete Davidson has reportedly checked into a wellness facility for his mental health.

PEOPLE Magazine reported that Davidson is focusing on his health after over 200 live stand-up comedy shows and film projects, including his second Netflix comedy special, Turbo Fonzarelli, in January.

A source told PEOPLE that mental health has "always been a priority" for the 30-year-old.

Davidson has been open about his journey to sobriety, as well as his history of dealing with borderline personality disorder and severe post-traumatic stress disorder.

He last underwent treatment in 2023 to address such disorders. In a comedy show in September that year, he told the audience he had been "fresh out of rehab," and that he had "that post-rehab glow."

Davidson also said he took ketamine daily for four years, calling it "magical." Doctors and veterinarians often use ketamine as an anesthetic, while researchers have explored its use as a treatment for depression.

In 2018, he opened up about his BPD diagnosis in 2016 after years of battling depression and anxiety. He said he initially believed the mental breakdowns he was experiencing were due to his heavy marijuana use.

In August of the same year, the international personality told Variety he had "been in and out of mental health facilities" since he was 9, and new medication at the time of the interview had stabilized him after several turbulent years.

Davidson became part of the late-night sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live.

He also had minor guest roles in shows like Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Friends of the People, Guy Code, and Wild 'n Out.
