Sharon Cuneta reveals why her and Gabby Concepcion's new concert after 'Dear Heart' got canceled
After the success of their Dear Heart reunion concert in October 2023, ex-partners Sharon Cuneta and Gabby Concepcion were supposed to have another show. It was, however, canceled after they failed to reach an agreement.
According to a report by ABS-CBN News, Cuneta said in a press conference that P.S. I Love You, which was also the title of a movie they starred in, was the supposed title of the follow-up concert.
“The repertoire was supposed to be much better than Dear Heart,” the Megastar said “Kasado na. Everyone was ready.”
Despite her being “excited” to reunite with Concepcion, negotiations between them went south.
“Apparently, negotiations didn’t go through. Let’s just say hindi siya natuloy not because of us,” she said. “Not my fault.”
Still, Cuneta said she has no regrets, noting she was able to make their fans happy.
“I wanted to make many more of them happy,” she added.
In a now-deleted Instagram post in December, Cuneta gave her followers a "reality check": that she and Concepcion haven't been in touch after Dear Heart.
"[W]e do not talk, text, see each other,” she said at the time. "We are living totally separate lives and whatever has been going on in mine, he has absolutely nothing to do with, and vice-versa."
“The Dear Heart concerts might be the last you will see of us together for a long time or even ever,” she added.
The reunion show came five years after Cuneta and Concepcion worked together on a commercial for a fast-food chain in 2018.
The former pair tied the knot in 1984, three years after the premiere of their film, Dear Heart. They welcomed their daughter KC Concepcion a year later but got legally separated in 1987. Their marriage was annulled in 1993.
Cuneta is now married to Kiko Pangilinan, while Concepcion is now with Genevieve Gonzales.
