K-pop group Cignature disbands after four years
Four years after their debut, K-pop girl group Cignature has disbanded.
C9 Entertainment, the group’s agency, announced their disbandment on their official fan cafe. The decision was made after careful consideration and discussions with all members.
“We have confirmed through mutual discussions with the members that the disbandment of the group is necessary. As such, all exclusive contracts with the seven members of Cignature will be terminated regardless of the remaining contract period, and the group’s activities officially ceased as of November 30, 2024,” the company stated.
The agency extended gratitude to members Chaesol, Jeewon, Seline, Belle, Semi, and Dohee for their "tireless efforts" despite facing "numerous challenges." They also apologized to the fans for the sudden news.
“We sincerely thank the members for their commitment as part of Cignature. We also apologize to the fans for delivering this sudden news and ask for your warm support as the members begin their new journeys in various fields,” it concluded.
In February 2020, Cignature debuted as a seven-member group under J9 Entertainment, a subsidiary of C9 Entertainment. They underwent several changes over the years, with original members Ye Ah and Sunn departing in 2021 after they terminated their contracts due to undisclosed reasons.
New members Chloe and Dohee joined in, but the former left the group earlier in 2024. Meanwhile, Belle is also a member of another group Unis, after securing a spot during the finale of Universe Ticket.
Cignature is known for its songs Nun Nu Nan Na, Assa, and Arisong.
