Jericho Rosales, Kim Jones call it quits
Jericho Rosales and Kim Jones have officially split.
Rumors of the couple's separation began circulating last year when eagle-eyed netizens noticed that both stars no longer post about each other on social media.
The news was recently confirmed by the couple's godfather Ricci Ocampo to ABS-CBN News, saying that the Filipino actor and Australian fashion influencer have been separated since 2019.
In a statement sent to the outlet, Ocampo said that the split was a mutual decision and that the two have remained good friends to this day.
He wrote, "While the friendship between the two remains, they have decided it is time to lead separate lives. They are encouraging each other to grow, albeit in different directions. It was a mutual decision, an amicable separation, dealt with grace and maturity by both parties."
“The two are filled with gratitude for the memories they’ve made together and the lessons they’ve learned. They have journeyed through the separation with the utmost respect and care toward one another precisely because Echo and Kim are the best of friends and love each other like family," Ocampo continued.
He highlighted that the separation was "not borne out of ill feelings" as both Rosales and Jones "only wish the best for each other."
"They are incredibly grateful for those who have supported them throughout the years, and appreciate the respect of their privacy during this time," Ocampo said.
Rosales and Jones officially became a couple in October 2011. They tied the knot in May 2014.
Just weeks ago, Rosales denied his split with Jones in an interview with entertainment portal PEP.ph. He said, "No comment because it's not the place. I never really talk about my relationships but we're happy, we're good." He added that they are "amazing" and "fantastic." He and Jones also graced the ABS-CBN Ball together last October.
Further proving that friendship remains between the two is their upcoming film which, according to Ocampo, has Rosales as the producer and Jones as the writer, director, and actor. This is in addition to their individual projects, including Rosales' prison action series Sell Block.
