In an interview with PhilSTAR L!fe, Kim shared their top secrets to their toned physiques at 50-something.

As a triathlete, Kim enjoys swimming, biking, and running. Since races and events have been put on pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he decided to do “runvangelism”—a combination of running and evangelism. “I share the Bible, I share the word, I make it inspirational para I have a reason to run,” he said, adding that his minimum distance for running is 8k. He, however, manages to do 10k three times per week.

On top of swimming twice a week, the TV personality considers each Thursday as his “bicycle to work” day. “I ride my bicycle wherever I have to go that day,” he shared.

Kim said that his wife Felicia, meanwhile, goes to the gym six times a week. “She does a lot of bodyweight exercises, she uses weights also and machines. She has a personal trainer,” Kim said.

The hot couple loves engaging in physical activities with the kids, including diving, boxing, skiing, golfing, lifting weights, running, baseball, and other kinds of sports. “We encourage our kids to do sports and live a healthy lifestyle as well.”

In terms of food, Kim and Felicia consider themselves “smart eaters.” Felicia spreads her meals throughout the day, while Kim follows a low glycemic diet coupled with intermittent fasting. “We don’t starve ourselves, but we eat smart. We eat the right things and we eat lots of it,” he explained. “Basta low glycemic index, I eat a lot of. Basta high glycemic index or high sugar, I eat less of. But I never ever starve myself.”

For those who want to start their fitness journey for their own health, Kim emphasized the importance of making it sustainable. “Do something that you like to do. If you like bicycles, then get into cycling. If you like swimming, then get into swimming. But it has to be sustainable,” he pointed out.

“’No pain, no gain’ doesn’t work anymore. I don’t believe in it. It has to be sustainable and it has to be enjoyable. It has to be something that you can integrate into your lifestyle, and it has to be something you can do regularly—although with effort, but also with pleasure,” Kim concluded.
