Bea Alonzo is engaged to boyfriend Dominic Roque: 'It’s like time stood still'
Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque are engaged!
On her Instagram, Bea posted a series of pictures of herself bursting into tears after Dominic knelt on one knee and asked her to be his wife. In the caption, she detailed the moments leading to Dominic popping the question to her on July 18.
"It was a balmy afternoon in Las Casas. I was there for a shoot, but little did I know that the next thing that would happen would change our lives forever," Bea wrote.
She continued, "In the middle of the shoot, [my photographer] Mark Nicdao kept telling me to turn around because he wanted to shoot the back side of my dress, I found it a bit odd, but when I turned around, I found Dom kneeling with a box in his hand."
While Bea is no stranger to doing proposal scenes for her projects, she highlighted that "nothing beats the real thing."
"It’s like time stood still. Everything went in slow motion. And I felt different emotions all at the same time—joy, excitement, love. I started bawling," Bea shared.
"But I didn’t want that moment to end. I want this real thing to happen forever… and right then there… In front of the people we love… we decided on forever.. " she ended.
Many of her fans and celebrity fans took the time to shower the couple with their heartiest congratulations.
"Yahoooooooo!!!! Mga bata ko yan o!!!!! I’m very happy for you and Dom! Congratulations! Love you both!" Vice Ganda wrote.
Heart Evangelista commented, "Beaaaaaaaaa! I am so happy for you both!!!"
Before this, the couple had already been sparking engagement rumors after Dominic hinted in June that he could pop the question to Bea anytime "soon." On the other hand, Bea shared in a previous interview that she’s "definitely" ready to get married and have kids at this point in her life, saying, "Siyempre, I'm in my 30s. Definitely."
The actress star confirmed her romance with Dominic in August 2021, saying it "just came out naturally."
