Sia reveals she had liposuction due to her 'own confidence issues'

Australian singer Sia said she underwent another liposuction procedure due to her “own confidence issues.”

Sia, in a tweet on X last weekend, said she had to take a medication that made her put on a lot of weight.

“I just can’t shift with exercise or thyroid meds so I went in for lipo today,” she said, adding that she’s so lucky to have the resources to change the way she looks.

Sia told her fans that she wants to be truthful about all her procedures so she won’t “contribute to the system that tells us we aren’t enough.”

“I am insecure like most people and being in the public eye gives me anxiety,” she said, “so I’ve made the choice to alter my appearance for my own confidence issues.”

She asked the public to pray for her.

In 2021, Sia announced that she had liposuction on her chin and then on her stomach because she was “so insecure,” according to PEOPLE Magazine.

"I’ve had liposuction twice on my chin thinking I had a double chin and it turned out to be muscles that I use to sing,” she said in a previous interview with physician and author Gabor Maté.

"I did that to myself because I was so insecure," she added.

According to the Mayo Clinic, liposuction involves removing fat from specific areas of the body, such as the stomach, hips, thighs, buttocks, arms or neck. These areas are then shaped through the process called contouring.

Last October, she revealed she also had plastic surgery on her face.

Sia is known for avoiding the public eye and can only be seen with her iconic wig that covers most of her face.

Her hits include Chandelier, Elastic Heart, Unstoppable, Cheap Thrills, and Titanium.
