Country star Miranda Lambert calls out fans for taking selfies during her concert
Country Singer Miranda Lambert is drawing flak after she shamed fans who were taking selfies.
While performing her hit single Tin Man during her Las Vegas residency, the American singer stopped mid-way after noticing a group of girls who reportedly were taking pictures of themselves.
“I’m gonna stop right here for a second Danny, I’m sorry,” Lambert told her pianist.
“These girls are worried about their selfie and not listening to the song. It’s pissing me off a little bit,” she said as she pointed to the fans in the audience.
“I don’t like it at all. We’re here to hear some country music tonight. I’m singing some country damn music,” she added right before starting the song from the beginning again.
The moment was caught on video and quickly went viral on TikTok with 2.2 million views and 114.6K likes.

Shocked by the country singer’s reaction, several concertgoers stood up and walked out the venue.
One fan can be heard in the background of the video saying, “Let’s go, come on, you don’t do that to fans.”
Adela Calin, a social media influencer and one of the fans who were called out, told NBC News that she was “appalled” by what Miranda did. She said that she and five of her friends took no more than 30 seconds to take the pictures.
“It felt like I was back at school with the teacher scolding me for doing something wrong and telling me to sit down back in my place,” she said in a phone interview.
Many fans took to her Instagram comments to show disappointment regarding her recent action.
One fan commented, “Just got a refund on my tickets! Not going to see you after you embarrassed those girls for no reason at all,” while another one said, “Lost a fan after seeing how you called out those girls for taking selfies at a concert. Humble yourself!”
There were some, meanwhile, who saw nothing wrong with what Miranda did.
“How can you even disrespect ‘Tin Man’ like this,” said one netizen. “This is one of those songs that have gotten me through the hardest times of my life. Literally. I couldn’t stop crying long enough to even hold my phone if I wanted to.”
Miranda is a Grammy-award-winning country music artist known for her hit songs like The House That Built Me and Drunk (And I Don’t Wanna Go Home).
