Michelle Madrigal goes on social media break to reflect, work on self
Michelle Madrigal will be away from social media indefinitely to reflect, work on herself, and “deepen [her] relationship with Lord.”
The former actress-turned-content creator took to Instagram on Monday, Sept. 18 to share her decision to take a break from social media in the meantime, citing the bible verse Psalm 147 verse 3 in the caption.
“I have decided to step away from these platforms indefinitely to work on myself and deepen my relationship with the Lord. Summer gave me an opportunity to look inward and reflect on myself,” she wrote.
She went on to share that she spent the last couple of weeks in “silence, prayers and isolation,” saying that it “has been the best decision for [her] mental health.”
“Learning through meditation, community, sobriety, celibacy, and healing as I go through the journey of becoming the woman God intended me to be,” she continued.
“You become what you consume,” she concluded her post.
Last April, Michelle shared her thoughts about divorce. The former actress, who is divorced from ex-husband Troy Woolfolk, said that separation may make one feel “liberated to reclaim your own identity and pursue your goals and passions without distractions or compromises.”
"Of course, moving on from a divorce is not always easy or linear. It may involve some setbacks, doubts, or fears as you step out of your comfort zone and face new challenges. But with the right support from friends, family, therapy, or other sources, you can gradually rebuild your confidence, trust, and happiness on your own terms," she assured.
Michelle and Troy ended their two-year marriage in 2021 but shared that they remain friends and will co-parent their child, Anika.
“Of course, we have remained friends and co-parents to our beautiful daughter Anika. We only wanted to share this to be transparent due to the amount of DM’s and comments we get from y’all,” she previously said.
Troy seconded this, saying that there was “no drama.”
“We still have that friendship. Just not companionship in a sense of marriage,” he said.
She announced her new romance with Kyle in August 2022 and confirmed their breakup in July.
