#FangirlGigs: 'Extraordinary Attorney Woo' Park Eun-Bin proves she's an extraordinarily charming star during PH fan meet

There is always something special with firsts and Park Eun-Bin kicking off the overseas leg of her fan meeting tour in the Philippines is one for keeps. The Extraordinary Attorney Woo star truly made the most out of her short visit, even learning Filipino along the way.

Do as the Romans do, they say, and so did the lovely Park Eun-Bin who greets everyone at the New Frontier Theater on Oct. 23 in straight Tagalog: “Kumusta kayo? Ako po si Park Eun-Bin. Ikinagagalak kong makita kayo. Na-miss ko kayo. Salamat sa pagpunta. Nakikita n’yo ba ako sa taas? Salamat po!”

It seems like a big star like her, who started her career as a child actress, must be already used to the attention. But Eun-Bin admits that she is overwhelmed and even worried that she might not fill the venue. However, she says seeing her Filipino fans gives her energy and makes her want to go back soon.

Despite her status, Eun-Bin exudes the aura of a relatable star who’s humbled by the attention made possible by her extraordinary work. People usually compliment her for being a diverse actress, an acting genius, but Eun-bin credits that to her sincere love for acting.

You would think someone who has been acting for more than two decades would be tired of it all but when asked what she thinks is the secret to her longevity, she says, “I really love my work. I really love acting.”

One of her most beloved roles was the charming titular character of this year’s runaway hit K-drama Extraordinary Attorney Woo. Fans are still raring to know whether the actress will reprise her role for a possible season 2 but for now Eun-Bin says Woo Young-woo is “living happily.”

While most fan meeting tours usually follow the same formats from getting-to-know-you segments, games and songs in between, Eun-Bin made sure to tailor fit her first Manila meet to her Pinoy fans. Her opening song, a cover of “Hello” by Red Velvet’s Joy, was meant to greet her Filipino fans. She even did a cover of “Especially For You,” a song that she says she’ll be singing only in Manila.

Seeing Woo Young-woo in the flesh has made us understand why everyone loves Eun-Bin, even in an industry as fierce as Korean entertainment. There is something so sincere about her and how she faced her PH Bingos, as her fans are called.

She appreciates all the little things, the gifts and the letters that she promised to read in her hotel room. She even thanked the host, the staff, and crew who worked hard behind the scenes of her fanmeet. While watching her shed tears after watching the fan project video, we’re thinking, how can anyone not love her?

The Manila leg of Eun-Bin’s “EUN BIN NOTE: BINKAN” Asia Fan Meeting Tour was presented by the actress’ agency Namoo Actors, MJ Tonz Entertainment, PULP Live World, and Happee Hour. Her next stops will be Bangkok, Singapore, and Tokyo in November. Hope to see you back soon in Manila, Park Eun-bin!
