'This is so hard omg': Lil Nas X, netizens react to Gen Z Pinoys dancing Tinikling to 'Dolla Sign Slime'
A video of Filipino-American Gen Z students dancing the traditional Tinikling to Lil Nas X's Dolla Sign Slime is getting traction online not just with Pinoys, but also with the rapper himself.
The Montero singer tweeted a reaction to the clip from the Georgia Tech Filipino Students Association on April 26. "This is so hard omg," he said.
Filipino netizens flocked to his replies, explaining the origins of the Tinikling to others who were confused with the video.
Like Lil Nas X, some users were amazed by the dance and told the rapper to invite them on stage.
"Get those kids on stage," one Twitter user said.

"You gotta invite them to perform with you on tour," wrote another.
Others were reminded of a scene from the 2000s TV show Malcolm in the Middle, as it also featured the Tinikling in one of its episodes. Meanwhile, netizens from different Asian countries like Myanmar and India were reminded of their own traditional dances from the viral video.
As of writing, the Gen Z Tinikling video shared on Facebook has over 6.9 million views with over 6,100 comments from Filipinos who were in awe of their performance.
They also wrote about how the video reminded them of their experience dancing Tinikling in school. Some Twitter users, however, pointed out that the Philippine flag was hung incorrectly.
I remember in elementary school, every grade had to do some kind of performance and they made 5th graders do this each year. It's fun
