Heidi Klum, queen of Halloween, dresses up as E.T.
The Queen of Halloween is here!
Heidi Klum’s Halloween costumes are always a must-see. Year after year, she pushes the boundaries of creativity with her out-of-this-world looks. This year was literally out of this world as she dressed up as a realistically looking E.T., in her annual Halloween party held on Oct. 31 at Hard Rock Hotel New York: The Venue on Music Row.
Heidi and her husband, Paul Kaulitz graced the red carpet with matching E.T. costumes inspired by the character from Steven Spielberg's 1982 classic E.T.: The Extraterrestrial, which she said was her “favorite childhood movie of all time.”
"[I] kind of thought about the universe in a different way and I thought E.T. was so cute and how he was wiggling around and all the moments when E.T. got dressed up with a wig and everything so I just thought it would be fun to become E.T. and especially to see two," she told PEOPLE magazine.
According to Vogue, Heidi began working on her E.T. costume in November 2023 which was brought to life by 30 artists.
Her go-to VFX artist, Mike Marino said they made the costume from scratch—from eyeballs, teeth, fingernails, and the body piece, which they 3D printed. It took them seven hours each to get into full costume.
The 51-year-old model is known for her over-the-top costume every Halloween. Last year, she dressed up as a peacock alongside 10 acrobats to execute the getup. Paul matched her costume by dressing up as a giant egg.
She also made headlines in 2022 for her very realistic gigantic worm costume, accompanied by her husband who came as a fisherman with a bloody eye.
Her other costumes in the past included a skinless human, a flesh-eating alien, and clones of herself.
