Domestic helper sheds tears of joy as employer surprises her with BTS' Suga concert ticket
If you're a K-pop fan, chances are, you'd know how hard it is to secure a ticket for a concert of one of your idols—more so if it's one for the biggest K-pop groups, like BTS.
So, imagine the delight of Nur, a domestic helper in Singapore, when her employer bought her a ticket for free.
On April 4, Nur's employer, Kimberlee Ang, shared a video on TikTok showing how she surprised Nur with a ticket for the solo concert of BTS member Suga in Singapore on June 18.
In the video, Kimberlee said that it was Nur’s dream to attend Suga’s concert, but after seeing the ticket prices last April 3, she opted to not push through with it because it was too expensive.
The concert tickets are priced from $168 (over P9,000) being the cheapest up to $348 (over P18,000).
@kimberlee.ang This must be the most intense ticket purchasing for me. I dunno how quick #army can be! @pjm 🐣 Nur, hope you like your gift from us. Thank you for being with us for 7 years. Little did Nur know, Kimberlee decided to buy her a ticket as a gift from her and her siblings. The video shows Kimberlee trying hard to secure one online amid the other 5,600 people in the queue.
“But I went on to get it anyway for her; a gift from me and my sibling. She didn’t know I manage to get it and I went up to surprise her. She burst into happy tears,” she captioned her video.
“Never in my life have I gotten such anxiety buying concert ticket! I was literally shaking and sweating. I was waiting by 10:57 a.m. and by 11 a.m., I was number 5600 plus in the line!” she shared.
“I was bounced out 3 times before securing a ticket. I’m glad her dream comes true.”
Further sharing her appreciation for her long-time helper, Kimberlee wrote in the caption, “Nur, hope you like your gift from us. Thank you for being with us for 7 years. Party hard on 18th June 2023 at the #sugaconcert.”
Nur, meanwhile, is seen jumping and shedding tears of joy as Kimberlee showed her the ticket. "I'm shaking," Nur told her employer.
The gesture drew appreciation and warm reactions from her followers, much more from the ARMYs who shared they know how hard it is to secure a ticket.
“One of a kind employer... She's so lucky to have you as an employer... Thank you for being kind,” one user wrote.
“I couldn’t get a ticket after two hours of anxiety but if I lost it to her, then it’s worth it,” said another ARMY.
Eagle-eyed ARMYs also noticed that Nur is wearing a Suga merch.
“Her shirt!! A true yoongi fan!! This is so lovely of u guys, u even got her the standing pen too which is quite hard to get,” another user wrote, to which Kimberlee replied: “OMG! Your eyes are sharp. It was really a challenge getting the ticket. We hope she can get a closer view at Suga performing on stage.”
