Kris Aquino pens heartfelt messages to family and friends amid health condition
Kris Aquino has penned thank you notes to her doctors, friends, and loved ones—including rumored boyfriend Batangas Vice Governor Mark Leviste—for all the love and support she has received while she is sick.
The actress, who had been in the US since June 2022 to receive treatment for her autoimmune diseases, has been using her Instagram platform to keep fans updated on her condition. On Thursday, May 18, she posted a lengthy video with messages for her loved ones.
The video first shows pictures of the actress during a doctor's visit. She then thanked her doctors from the UCLA International Patients Department for being the "most dedicated and compassionate healthcare team" she's ever met.
She then continued to name each of her friends and relatives in the US who had helped her and her sons adjust in the country, as well as those who had made Bimby "feel that he has real friends."
The showbiz personality also penned a short message for her sisters, Ballsy, Pinky, and Viel, saying she misses them "like crazy."
"Super hard to believe that this will be Noy's 2nd death anniversary that [I] won't be home. And And it will be dad's 40th anniversary since his [a]ssassination. Being an ocean away has really made me appreciate the value of having family nearby. I MISS ALL OF YOU- like crazy," she wrote.
Kris also thanked a certain Alvin, whom she has known for over 19 years.
"Alvin, thank you for the 19 years of organized, loving devotion... for scolding me when [I] start to lose hope, for reminding me how much we have
to be inspired to continue fighting for; and for doing your best to make life much easier for me," the Queen of All Media said.
Kris' good friend, fashion designer Michael Leyva was also included in the tribute. She thanked him for "making time for kuya (Josh) now that he's home." The actress shared that her 27-year-old son, Josh, is back in the Philippines because he has gained almost 70 pounds while in the US for the past 11 months, but also noted that the latter has now lost 17 pounds because he had been working out.
"How [I] wish we had the advanced blood testing which [I] need done every week and the immunity boosting supplements back home so the 3 of us could be together," she wrote.
In the same video, Kris gave an update on her youngest, Bimby, whom she says will be back in the Philippines this July to study. Sharing a conversation with her ate Ballsy, Kris said that she "feels embarrassed" that people think she is "dependent" on Bimby, but what she wants now is to give Bimby a "regular" life.
"He deserves to enjoy being 16. I want him to experience what [I] didn't, a regular high school & college life," she shared.
Continuing her message, Kris admitted that she is feeling the fatigue and pain after taking the baby dose of methotrexate almost 24 hours ago, but will be brave for when she talks to Bimby.
"I need to have a heart to heart talk with my bunso without telling him how my body feels after 1/3 of the dose we're aiming for... As always Ate knows BEST but I promised Bimb this would be his choice & more than anything, I want him to be proud of me," she said.
Kris then thanked her fans for their "prayers and compassion."
"To all: mahaba pa ang Laban: MARAMING SALAMAT SA MALASAKIT. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
To end the video, Kris gave a heartfelt message to her rumored boyfriend Mark and apologized for not expressing her appreciation for him that much.
"[I]'ve been so unfair in not THANKING you enough for all your effort to be here whenever [I] need you, for all the times my past has made me so jaded that [I] keep breaking up with you all because [I] didn't believe a long distance relationship stood a chance because of your job obligations, and because i need at least 2 cycles of 9 months each before I can hope to reach remission."
"Marc, I'm sorry for punishing you for what others have done to me. You are 100% correct, you're not them. Contrary to what others may think it's either you or [B]imb taking all the pictures,"
She then thanked him for "keep[ing] our new relationship private" by not posting pictures.
"We are proof that LOVE comes when you least expect it. Thank you for your 12 years of perseverance. Whatever God decides for us, let's please end up BEST FRIENDS for the rest of our lives?"
Kris is having an ongoing battle against her autoimmune diseases, which have now increased to five. On May 17, she shared that she had begun taking another medication that treats cancer, psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis.
She appealed to her fans to continue praying for her. “Hindi ako sumusuko, sana ‘wag rin kayo sumuko? Please?” she said.
Kris first announced that she would be seeking treatment in abroad in April 2022.
