Kanye West's school accused of serving only sushi for lunch
Kanye West, or simply Ye, has been sued by former teachers of Donda Academy, the private Christian school that he ran, for allegedly wrongfully terminating them and enforcing "unusual" rules.
These included serving only sushi for lunch and prohibiting utensils.
Additionally, the California school's doors were allegedly locked from the outside, while classes were not held on the second floor because Ye was "afraid of stairs."
“I’m extremely sad about all of this. It was such a huge honor and privilege to work at Donda Academy for Kanye West. I’m a huge Kanye fan. His first album was the first I ever purchased,” plaintiff Chekarey Byers said in a statement.
They also claimed that Donda Academy employed no school nurses or cleaning services, with any available on-campus medications unsecured or expired.
The plaintiff said that although she recognized Ye's talent, his vision for the academy was ultimately lacking.

"I still enjoy his music, and I’ll never deny his talent, but while his vision for the school sounds great on paper, it’s just pure chaos and mutiny. It’s like a mental hospital being run by the patients," Byers said.
Donda Academy closed down in October 2022 in light of the "antisemitic remarks" from Ye.
“Kanye West is clearly as bad at running a school as he is at managing his own personal and professional life, enabling an unsafe and illegal school environment for students that also discriminated against the plaintiffs based on their race,” the plaintiffs’ attorney Ron Zambrano said.
Meanwhile, Ye and his representatives have since been silent about the issue.
