Motherhood can be an especially challenging time for new moms, and Iza Calzado is one of those who experienced how hard it is first-hand.

On her Instagram account, the actress, who gave birth to her first child Deia Amihan this year, opened up about the realizations she had after going through some difficult moments as a first-time mom.

"From pregnancy to an emergency cesarean birth to taking care of a growing human, my body has been going through some major changes and challenges. The demands of motherhood can be tough and sometimes the simple stretching and re alignment becomes the last priority," Calzado captioned her video showing her taking care of her bundle of joy.

She recalled, "I’ve hurt my back just picking up Deia because I did not give this much importance. Trust me when I say that it’s not fun being in pain when you hold your child."

Because of this, she has since been taking up sessions with her chiropractors to help alleviate her discomfort, which she shared have helped her move for and with her baby.

She ended her post with a valuable message for fellow moms, "Don’t wait until you’re in pain before you prioritize yourself. Remember to stretch, strengthen your body and find your support system that will help you take care of your baby."

This comes as Calzado recently opened up about experiencing difficulties accepting the change in her body after giving birth.

"To be honest, I have been struggling to fully embrace my postpartum body. It’s a bit of a rollercoaster ride, really. I have my good days when I celebrate it for carrying and birthing to and now taking care of a child. Then there are those moments that leave me feeling frustrated even after years of working on loving and accepting myself," she shared.

However, she has since been moving foward bit by bit. She has now accomplished her very first workout after giving birth, where she was seen doing various exercises such as weightlifting, push-ups, and other stretching techniques with her coach.

Calzado and Wintle welcomed their baby girl in January this year and introduced her to the public in an Instagram post in March. The couple recently celebrated Deia Amihan turning six months old on July 28.

"Holding on to every precious moment with our Deia Amihan. She is abundance personified for us. Our biggest blessing, our source of joy and inspiration," Calzado wrote in a post.
