'Why waste any time': Christopher Quimbo reveals why he proposed to Alodia Gosiengfiao 4 months into their relationship
The famous adage goes, "When you know, you know," and it did for Christopher Quimbo.
The 34-year-old businessman and celebrity cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao have only been dating for four months when he decided to propose to her last July. And for Quimbo, it was an obvious choice from the get-go.
He revealed this during his joint interview with Gosiengfiao in the Sept. 9 vlog of celebrity dermatologist Vicki Belo.
"If you ask your friends, even after the first month of knowing you, I knew I was going to propose to you," Quimbo, with his soft voice and smiling eyes, endearingly told his fiancé.
"I just knew. They always say that, 'When you know, you know.' I actually experienced it for myself," he continued to explain to Belo. "Well, if I know, why waste my time?"
Gosiengfiao said that it was likewise an instant "yes" for her because thinking about their future together oftentimes resulted in positive emotions for both of them.
"When we talked about that, parang it was mostly positive, happy thoughts, parang I'm not scared if ever things go wrong," she explained.
During her interview for PhilSTAR L!fe's cover story this September, the famous cosplayer and Tier One Entertainment co-founder revealed that she met her beau during a Kai Xiao, a Chinese tradition where families arrange for two people to meet.
"My first impression, sabi ko, ‘Ah, he doesn’t speak Tagalog,’ but no, he can understand naman. He’s smart and super humble, which is quite nice since we connect on a different level," she recalled.
Quimbo, for his part, admitted in Belo's vlog that he was star-stuck by Gosiengfiao when he first met her. "But, of course, you are also looking for something more than that," he added. "I saw her for something much deeper."
The couple recalled hitting it off from the moment they met despite having different personalities. "We just kept talking, we kept having good conversations," Quimbo told Belo. "We have different personalities kasi... She's super introvert, I'm super extrovert. I wanted to know up to what extent she is an extrovert."
"We're very different but we're super compatible," he added.
