MLD Entertainment’s girl group Lapillus ready to make a splash with ‘HIT YA!’
“Hit ya, my engine never stops.”
One of the much-awaited K-pop debuts of 2022, MLD Entertainment’s rookie girl group LAPILLUS is composed of six members, namely, Shana, Yue, Bessie, Seowon, Haeun, and former Star Magic actress Chantal Videla or Chanty.
LAPILLUS made their debut with the aggressive, pop track HIT YA. The single album and music video were released on Monday, June 20.
Compared to the ethereal vibe of their debut teasers, LAPILLUS’ debut track is a display of the members’ powerful vocal and rap skills as they showed their determination to “make you sweat.”
Two of LAPILLUS’ members have been active in the entertainment scene prior to their debut. Chanty was part of ABS-CBN’s Star Magic Circle Batch 2018, while group leader Shana competed in the Korean reality show Girls Planet 999.
In the group’s debut showcase per Korea Joongang Daily, Shana revealed that she’s been waiting to debut. “I’m so nervous right now, but I’m also happy because I dreamed of my first stage for so long.”
LAPILLUS is described as a global girl group since it consists of members of different nationalities. Bessie hopes the group would perform in the members’ respective home countries “someday.”
To recall, Chanty is Filipina-Argentinian, Shana is Japanese, and Yue is Chinese-American.
Aside from the rookie girl group, MLD Entertainment is the home of K-pop groups Momoland and T1419.
