Sophie Turner sues Joe Jonas to return kids to UK

Sophie Turner has filed a lawsuit against her ex-husband, Joe Jonas, demanding the return of their two young children to England. She alleges that Joe is refusing to hand over their children's passports.

According to court documents that were filed in Southern New York, the girls, aged 3 and 14 months, have been wrongfully kept in New York since Wednesday from their "habitual residence" in England. Sophie claimed that she and then-husband Joe had agreed England would be their "forever home" in April so that the kids could attend school there. 

"The Father has possession of the children’s passports. He refuses to return the passports to the Mother and refuses to send the children home to England with the Mother," the records said.

The documents also claimed that they agreed to let the girls join their father for The Jonas Brothers tour as Joe "had more daytime hours to be available to them than Sophie did amid filming," according to People. However, the English actress had "hesitation" about the "temporary arrangement."

Sophie also alleged that she learned about the divorce "through the media" just days after Joe filed for divorce on Sept. 5. She added that everything happened "very suddenly."

In the documents, Joe's legal team allegedly confirmed to Sophie's team on Sept. 19 that Joe would keep the passports and would not allow his daughters to relocate.

Joe filed for a dissolution of marriage from Sophie after four years of marriage last Sept. 5.

They posted a joint statement on their social media accounts regarding the split, saying the decision was mutual.

“Statement from the two of us: 'After four wonderful years of marriage we have mutually decided to amicably end our marriage. There are many speculative narratives as to why, but truly this is a united decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our wishes for privacy for us and our children,'" they both wrote.
