A reunited bond: KC Concepcion shares she and Sharon Cuneta have 'found our way back to each other'
It seems that Sharon Cuneta and KC Concepcion are slowly healing the wounds of their past.
In an Instagram post showing the Megastar happily beaming during a video call with her firstborn, KC shared that they are now speaking like "girlfriends."
"I hear about so many mother-daughters that never get the chance to heal their relationships nor resolve issues, and I feel lonely for them," KC began, as she and her mother have been known to have a strained relationship over the years.
During KC's 37th birthday this April, Sharon shared in an Instagram post that she was "feeling empty" without her daughter.
"So much has happened, so much has changed. Still, know that there is a huge chunk of my heart that is missing, empty without you," Sharon had written.
The Megastar also assured her daughter that she will always be waiting for her and that she didn't have to "grow up too fast" amid the separation of Sharon and her ex, Gabby Concepcion.
"The pain of your family breaking up didn’t have to happen nor burden you. Again, none of it was your fault," Sharon added.
"I love you, Kristina. God bless you and guide you through your life, my beautiful big girl. One day, we will all be together and it will all be wonderful again."
On Mother's Day, KC showed some love to Sharon with a touching caption and throwback photo of the pair. KC had been recovering from COVID-19 at the time.
"Your voice is all I needed to jumpstart my recovery and win this battle against covid," she wrote. "You are the salt to my pepper, you spice up my life in ways no one else can."
"I loved you the moment you made me, and I will love you forever and ever."
Now, it seems like the two are patching things up while KC has been staying in New York while her mother is in Manila: "I’m so thankful we’re able to speak with each other with mutual care and respect, and now talk like girlfriends and found our way back to each other! I love you Mama!"
"There is nothing like having your own mother’s LOVE," KC concluded.
The 37-year-old has recently wrapped up the filming of Asian Persuasion, where she has called on fans' help to crowdfund the project.
