Bretman Rock proudly raised the Philippine flag as he received a digital influencer award at the Unforgettable Gala's 20th Annual Asian American Awards.

The social media star shared about the achievement on Instagram, posting photos of his outfit from the night.

"Just like my destiny, it was UNFORGETTABLE 💅🏽🇵🇭 thank you for having me, [Character Media] and honoring da Baddest for Digital Influencer award!" Bretman wrote. "Will continue to be Me Af, Gay Af, and FILIPINO AF."

International print magazine Character Media gave the award to the Filipino influencer as he has always been an inspiration for showing his authentic self online. Bretman is also an active supporter of the Asian/Pacific Islander (API) and LGBTQ+ community.

During his acceptance speech at the Dec. 17 awards night, Bretman talked about how he grew up watching Filipino TV when he was younger.

"I was gonna stand here and lie to you guys about how I never saw myself on TV. That would be a lie because my mom always watched TFC when I was young and everything I absorbed on TV was Filipino people! I always saw myself on TV, so when people say like 'I never saw myself on TV,' girl, change the channel," he said on stage.

The 20th Annual Asian American Awards was hosted by fellow Filipino Eugene Cordero, who starred in Marvel's Loki. The night also recognized other Asian Americans in entertainment, including Everything Everywhere All At Once star Stephanie Hsu, Pachinko's Minha Kim, as well as Turning Red writers Domee Shi and Julia Cho.
