Adding another milestone to his successful career, Kapuso actor and host Matteo Guidicelli gave a speech at the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) in Cebu City as he received his bachelor's degree diploma.

In a Facebook post on Dec. 9, USJ-R shared the news that the actor graduated with a degree in BSBA-Marketing Management through the Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation Program (ETEEAP).

"Matteo Guidicelli is one of the USJ-R ETEEAP graduates today!" the caption read.

During his graduation speech, Matteo narrated his educational journey noting that he enrolled in the program to formalize his knowledge in business.

"My only teacher and leader was my father. My dream kasi in my life is to be or try to be good as my father in business, but I said to myself 'How would I do this? when you don't have formal background education?'" he said.

"I started developing this inspiration and motivation, and appreciation for the course and why I was doing it. I started learning, appreciating, taking every class very seriously," Matteo continued.

The actor also emphasized the importance of responsible usage of social media and the power of perception. He then urged his fellow graduates to be "catalysts of positive change."

"Each and everyone of us today, we have the power to create a difference. and because of what USJ-R was given to us today with our diplomas and education, this power has been solidified with us, in our hands. With the use of social media, we have the power to create perception, to create change, to create an effect to our Kababayans," Matteo said.

In case you don't know, the ETEEAP is a comprehensive educational assessment program at the tertiary level that "recognizes, accredits, and gives equivalencies to knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values."

According to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), beneficiaries from this program must be Filipino who are at least high school, must have worked for at least five years in the field or industry related to the academic program they are obtaining an equivalency and must also be able to show proof of proficiency, capability and thorough knowledge in the field applied for equivalency.

Likewise, individuals can gain it from relevant work through "deputized higher education institutions that shall award the appropriate college degree."

Aside from Matteo, Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados also finished a degree in BS Tourism Management at the same university on Dec. 9.

Matteo grew up in Cebu. He went to Brent International School and Cebu International School before spending two years at Columbia College in Chicago, where he pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Performing Arts in the field of Musical Theater.

In October, the 33-year-old Black Rider actor and his wife, Sarah Geronimo, established their studio, G Studios, a two-story rental venue in Alabang that has dressing rooms, vanity rooms, and bathrooms.

"It's not just a studio, it's our second home," he said.

Matteo and Sarah also have a production team called G Studios Inc., which comprises young creative professionals.
