P-pop Kings are back: Vocals and visuals take center stage in SB19’s single ‘WYAT (Where You AT)’
The P-pop Kings have returned to the music scene—and their groovy single is music to our ears.
SB19 has finally dropped their much-awaited single WYAT (Where You AT), a disco-pop banger that makes a statement about being “disconnected” from the current times. The single and music video were released on Friday, September 2.
“Where you at / There’s no groove within this music / No sign of your heartbeat in it / I’m alone / So sad / Will I ever get connected? / ‘Cause you’re already embedded in my heart and soul, yeah,” SB19 sang at the song’s chorus.
Ken previously revealed that the creative process behind WYAT (Where You AT) is meant to create something “bigger and better” for A’TIN.
On the other hand, Stell said returning after a year was an “opportunity to think more as to what we can improve on” and how they “can prepare for our comeback.”
And as always, SB19 exceeded all expectations. The single is an ode to the disco era of the 70s, seamlessly combined with the elements of the 80s and 90s. Blending various styles into one cohesive release sounds like a recipe for disaster yet the boy group made it work with flying colors.
The vintage-inspired music video also showed Pablo, Josh, Stell, Ken, and Justin in vintage-inspired sets as they take a journey away from “disconnection.”
SB19 is also set to embark on their “WYAT (Where You At)” world tour starting on Sept. 17 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The group will also meet their fans in Clark, Cebu, and Davao in the PH, before flying off to the US, United Arab Emirates, and Singapore.
The quintet debuted in October 2018 with the ballad Tilaluha. Since then, they have risen as one of the biggest acts of the P-pop industry.
