Nick Carter pens an emotional statement following his brother Aaron's death
Nick Carter has issued a statement following his younger brother Aaron Carter's sudden death.
On social media, the Backstreet Boys singer paid tribute to his brother who was found dead in his LA home on Nov. 5.
"My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded," Nick wrote, sharing old photos with his sibling.
"I have always held onto the hope, that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed."
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss. But the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.
"I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz., now you get a chance to finally have some peace you could never find here on earth… God,Please take care of my baby brother."
In the comments section, fans and celebrities, including Spice Girls' Emma Bunton and fellow Backstreet Boys members AJ McLean and Kevin Richardson, sent their condolences to the singer.
"I’m Heartbroken for you and your family. Sending so much love," Emma wrote.
"Love you bro. Always here for you," said AJ.
Meanwhile, Paris Hilton, Nick's ex girlfriend, also lamented on the pop singer's death.
On Twitter she said: "Sad to hear about the news of @aaroncarter 😢 He was always kind to my family and I. He had a good heart. Gone way too soon. 😔Sending my thoughts and condolences to his loved ones and family. RIP 🙏"
Hilary Duff, who dated Aaron during their teenage years, also paid tribute to the rapper on Instagram Stories.
"For Aaron– I'm deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent…boy did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy," she wrote.
90s boy band NSYNC, whom Aaron collaborated with in 1998, also posted on Twitter about his death.

It can be recalled that Aaron had a falling out with his siblings.
In 2019, Nick announced that he and sister Angel had filed for a restraining order against Aaron, saying that Aaron allegedly had "intentions of killing my wife and unborn child."
Aaron was found dead in his home in California on Nov. 5. According to TMZ, the pop star's house sitter "found his body in the bath tub and called authorities."
His fiancé also confirmed the news that day asking for privacy and prayers.
"Please respect the privacy of my family as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love greatly. We are still in the process of accepting this unfortunate reality. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated," she said.
Aaron found fame at the young age of 9 as a singer. He released his self-titled album in 1997 and later opened for the Backstreet Boys that same year.
The young Carter also made several TV appearances, including Lizzie McGuire, 7th Heaven, House of Carters, and Dancing with the Stars.
