2NE1's Park Bom didn't finish Manila concert due to health concerns

Park Bom, a member of the K-pop girl group 2NE1, experienced health issues that caused her to leave the stage during the second day of the group's back-to-back concerts in Manila.

YG Entertainment, the group's agency, shared a statement via local concert producer Live Nation Philippines' Instagram Stories. It explained that the K-pop idol was unable to return to the stage due to "health-related issues" despite receiving emergency medical attention on-site.

"Despite receiving emergency medical attention on-site, her condition did not improve, and unfortunately, she was unable to return to return to the stage," the statement read.

YG also extended apologies to the fans and ensured that they would do their best to help their artist recover.

"Sincere apologies to everyone who had been waiting for this concert. We will do our utmost to ensure our artist's recovery as we fully understand the concern of the fans. Thank you," YG concluded.

This came after the 40-year-old K-pop star also missed some performances during the first night due to wardrobe malfunctions. She managed to return to the stage and complete the concert.

Bom's health issues

Bom had a history of health issues which sometimes affected her ability to perform.

YG Entertainment's Yang Hyun-suk said in 2014 that Bom sought out medical care from South Korean physicians and had undergone therapy for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder but "proved to be not as effective" as her treatment in the United States.

In the same year, she faced a publicized incident in 2014 related to a prescription drug scandal, where she was caught bringing in medication from the U.S. to Korea, which was not legal at the time. However, after much public scrutiny, she took a break from the public eye and worked on her health.

In the years following 2NE1's disbandment, Bom has occasionally spoken about her health struggles and her desire to return to music on her own terms.

She has since made a comeback as a solo artist with songs like Spring as the lead single off her debut single album of the same name.

In 2023, Bom held her first solo concert, You & I, in the country, while in September of this year, she held her second solo concert in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

2NE1, which also includes Sandara Park, Minzy, and CL, performed back-to-back concerts at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City on Nov. 16 and 17 as part of their 15th anniversary Welcome Back Tour.
