Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello split after 7 years of marriage
Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello announced their separation after being married for seven years.
In a joint statement provided to entertainment portal Page Six, the former couple said they have made the “difficult decision” to divorce. “As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives,” they added.
The ex-pair first sparked breakup speculations last week, when Sofia was spotted celebrating her 51st birthday in Italy without Joe. She was also seen without her wedding ring in various photos that circulated on social media.
Manganiello, however, made it a point to greet Vergara a happy birthday on Instagram at the time. “!!Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!! (Happy birthday, Sofia)” he captioned his post.
According to Page Six, the two were last spotted together in June, when Vergara visited Manganiello while filming his new project Nonnas.
Vergara and Manganiello met through the actress’ Modern Family co-star Jesse Ferguson in 2014. They got engaged on Christmas Eve of the same year and tied the knot in November 2015.
Vergara was previously engaged to Nick Loeb, but it was called off before she met Manganiello. She also shares a son with her first husband Joe Gonzalez.
