Taylor Lautner called on everyone to just “spread love and positivity" as he responded to netizens who said he "did not age well."

The 31-year-old actor recently took to Instagram to react to the hateful comments about his appearance via a four-minute video with the caption: "Spread love."

"I just got back from a run. I was feeling really good about myself, trying to stay healthy both physically and mentally. And I felt compelled to share something with you because when I got back from that run, I hopped on Instagram," he began.

The Twilight star shared that he saw some negative remarks about him in the comment section of his recent guest appearance with his wife on a show. Scrolling through the comments, he shared how it “brought up old feelings and memories” from the past when he refused to read comments about him online as he knew they would only affect him greatly.

After pointing out that he is now in “a different headspace,” Lautner flashed the hateful remarks he came across about him on social media.

Some of the comments were: “Brooo where is his hairline running off to??? Looks like Ratatouille putting the years on him,” "He did not age well goodness,” “Wait he looks so old wtf happened,” and “This guy looks like old broccoli.”

Lautner noted that those comments are only under one post, “which is crazy, but that’s the world we live in, and there's only so much we can do to change it [harsh reality].”

Speaking to those who have also been bashed for their appearance, the Hollywood star highlighted the importance of knowing where to put one's value and not getting discouraged when one encounters damaging comments like those he mentioned.

"You find value where you put it," the Abduction actor said, "and if you put your value on what other people think of you, that's how you're going to feel. But if you put your value in you knowing who you are, what's important to you, what you love, that kind of stuff won't get to you.”

Lautner ended his video by encouraged everyone to choose kindness no matter what. "My biggest point is just think about and remember where you put your value in life, and also just be nice.”

“It's not that difficult. Let's be nice to each other. Let's spread love and positivity. It's that simple,” he concluded.

Lautner previously opened up about the body image issues he had while filming the Twilight series, recalling how he was forced to go to the gym almost every day.

“When I was in it, when I was 16 through 20 years old, starring in this franchise where my character is known for taking his shirt off every other second," he said in an episode of his podcast The Squeeze in February this year. "I did not know that it was affecting me or going to affect me in the future with body image, but now looking back at it, of course, it did, and of course, it is going to,” he added.
