'Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical' reveals cast, creative team

They're almost ready to serenade you.

An all-female cast will lead in the Full House Theater Company (FHTC) production of Buruguduystunstugudunstuy: Ang Parokya ni Edgar Musical which is set to begin performances at the Newport World Resorts in 2024.

The highly-anticipated musical, which will feature songs from Pinoy rock band Parokya ni Edgar, will include Maria Clara at Ibarra star Kyle Napuli, theater actress Marynor Madamesila, singer-actress Tex de Leon, and stage actress Natasha Cabrera. Noel Comia, Pepe Herrera, Jasper Jimenez, and Nicco Manalo are in the supporting cast.

In addition, the members of the female ensemble will also include Iya Villanueva, Maronne Cruz, Teetin Villanueva, Miah Canton, Cara Barredo, Liway Perez, Cheska Quimno, Paulina Luzuriaga, Julia Serad, Sarah Facuri, Jillian Ita-as, Chaye Mogg, Mikaela Regis, and Aixia Mallary as female swing.

Jules Dela Paz, Rapah Manalo, Stephen Viñas, Boo Gabunada, Jep Go, Khalil Tambio, Neo Rivera, Francis Gatmaytan, Mark Anthony Grantos, MC Dela Cruz, Franco Ramos, Red Nuestro, Ralph Oliva, and Jim Ferrer are part of the male ensemble together with Rofe Villarino as male swing.

Meanwhile, the creative team will see the return of director Dexter M. Santos and artistic directors Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo and Michael Williams from the recent Ang Huling El Bimbo The Musical.

Critically acclaimed writer Rody Vera is named the playwright, while Ejay Yatco joins as the musical director and arranger. Completing the team are choreographer Stephen Viñas, set designer Lawyn Cruz, lights designer Monino Duque, costume designer Raven Ong, video designers Ga Fallarme and Joyce Garcia, and sound designer Arvy Dimaculangan.

Parokya ni Edgar was formed in the 90s and is known for their hits like HaranaGitara, Your Song, Halaga, among others.
