A girl with many talents
While it's clear that Thuy has a great love for pageantry, it's not the only thing that she is skilled in. Based on a report by Vietnam-based news outlet Nguoi Lao Dong, the beauty queen has lots of hobbies when she's not strutting the runway.
She also has a knack for singing, dancing, and folding Origami. She also likes to spend her time keeping herself fit by going to the gym, playing badminton, and swimming.
A love for language
It comes as no surprise that the new Miss International queen has the brains to elevate her beauty. Apart from her beauty pageant wins, some of Thuy's other achievements revolve around education. She previously took home the second prize in the City-level Literature Competition in 2016.
She is currently studying English Language at the University of Foreign Language Studies, a member of the University of Da Nang system. At the same time, she also studying at the University of Greenwich, Vietnam.
She chose to focus on learning about languages because she believes that this is a good choice to develop her career and contribute to the tourism industry in Da Nang, per Nguoi Lao Dong.
A victim of bullying
Even someone as beautiful as Thuy couldn't escape being a victim of bullying because of her physical appearance.
The model and beauty queen shared that others once criticized her for being tall, thin, dark-skinned, and hunchbacked to the point that she became insecure about her looks.
Yet, she ultimately triumphed over these challenges by recognizing her unique attributes: her height and striking features. She cultivated a positive mindset, channeling negative comments into fuel for her self-belief.
This experience ignited a passion in Thuy to combat cyber violence. She understands firsthand the devastating impact it can have on mental and physical well-being, leading to depression and even tragic consequences like suicide.
