Bianca Umali on why she and Ruru Madrid have no plans of living together before marriage
Bianca Umali and Ruru Madrid opened up about their relationship as the actress shared why they are not in favor of the live-in setup before marriage.
In their guest appearance on Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, the celebrity couple was asked by the "King of Talk" whether they would consider living together.
“Well, alam naman natin na it will be a phase, pero sa ngayon Tito, especially that we are in our religion as well, it’s not tolerated to live inside one roof nang hindi kayo kasal. And we honor that,” Bianca began.
“Ako rin po, alam ko na I am reserving myself for that person who I know will love me forever, and alam kong si Ruru ‘yon. Alam kong dadating kami roon,” she continued.
According to a PEP.ph report in 2019, Ruru revealed in a press conference that she's a devout member of Iglesia ni Cristo. The entertainment outlet reported two years later that Bianca converted to INC in 2020 and it was her "personal choice."
Going strong for six years now, the couple looked back on the challenges they faced that tested their relationship, including when they briefly broke up in the past.
“Naghiwalay kami for a while. The relationship became cold, and parang I wasn’t really reciprocating every time he told me that he loves me, and he was very apologetic kung ano ‘yung nagawa na mali,” Bianca recalled.
She added, “Ako rin sa totoo lang na kahit na I was in pain, hindi ko rin kaya na mahiwalay sa kaniya e.”
For his part, Ruru said he believes that all the problems they faced as a couple helped their relationship become stronger until now.
“Minsan napapaisip ka ‘di ba, noong una ang daming pinagdaanan na mga pagsubok. And then ngayon, ito na po ‘yung mga nangyayari sa amin, doon mari-realize na lahat may dahilan kung bakit kailangan nating pagdaanan ‘yung mga unos na ‘yon kasi ito pala ang kapalit noon, kung ano ‘yung mga tinatamasa namin ngayon,” said the Black Rider star.
“Every year meron kami talagang pagsubok na pagdadaanan. So far wala kaming mapipili kung ano ‘yung toughest, because almost every challenge that goes through the relationship is always the hardest,” Bianca added. While they acknowledge that their relationship is not perfect, she said they are “proud” to have experienced and overcome such challenges.
“We are also very open to sharing our stories kasi that’s the reality of every relationship. Walang relasyon ang perpekto, and we are proud of all the imperfections that we have gone through because alam namin ni Ruru ang tinahak naming dalawa para maging ganito kami ka-strong ngayon,” she explained.
The two first went public with their relationship in 2022 when Ruru confirmed that they had been dating for four years at the time during his guest appearance on Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho (KMJS). They previously starred in a TV show together dubbed The Write One.
