Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati celebrate son Kai’s birthday separately
Richard Gutierrez and Sarah Lahbati threw separate birthday parties for their son Kai, who recently turned six years old.
The former couple's son celebrated his birthday on March 21, which comes after Sarah confirmed their split with Richard earlier in the month.
Richard's family celebrated at the Bellevue Hotel in Alabang. Members of Richard's family were present, including his parents Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez, and his sister Ruffa Gutierrez as well as with some celebrity friends.
Sarah's family had a more intimate celebration at their house on March 23. From the families’ social media posts, both parties were Minecraft-themed.
Sarah shared a heartfelt message on Instagram, expressing her joy at being Kai's mom.
“I’m so lucky to be your mom, Kai. Your smile is the most contagious blessing in the world. No words can express how much I love you and Zion. Six years… of joy. happy birthday, Bubba. Momma will forever and always be by your side," the actress wrote.
Meanwhile, Ruffa posted a series of photos from the Gutierrez family's celebration with her own message for her nephew.
"Kai has reached Level 6!" she said. "Always be a good boy and study hard, cutie Kai. Thank you for being a blessing to all of us. We love you!"
On March 1, Sarah confirmed that she's currently single after speculations about her breakup with Richard surfaced last year.
"I mean there's nothing to hide. I think [it's] pretty clear to the public, both of us. I think, she told ABS-CBN News.
While the couple aren't on speaking terms, they have a co-parenting setup, Sarah told Frontline Pilipinas.
"It's not easy on any child but I'm here for them, and they're better... We're good at parenting. We are there for the kids. That's all I'm gonna say."
Annabelle Rama, Gutierrez's mother, revealed in December that Richard had been staying with her for a month.
The two also unfollowed each other on Instagram in January 2024.
Gutierrez and Lahbati got married in 2020 after dating for eight years.
