'Stay Alive' of BTS' Jungkook makes history as 1st Korean OST in UK Official Singles Chart
BTS Jungkook's original soundtrack for the K-pop sensation's original webtoon just made history as the first Korean OST ever to enter the United Kingdom's Official Single Chart, the counterpart of the Billboard charts in the United States.
Stay Alive of 7 Fates: Chakho, produced by fellow BTS member Suga, debuted at No. 89 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100 for the week of Feb. 18 to 24.
The song also landed on No. 5 of the Official Singles Sales Chart Top 100 and Official Singles Downloads Chart Top 100.
Jungkook is also the fourth solo male K-Pop artist to land on the UK charts, following Psy's Gangnam Style (No. 1) and Gentleman (No. 10) and fellow BTS members J-Hope's Chicken Noodle Soup which featured Becky G. (No. 82) and Suga's Daechwita (No. 68). Suga released the song under his Agust D alter ego.
Since its release, Stay Alive has been amassing records. It's the fastest song by any K-Pop solo artist that became No. 1 on iTunes Top Songs over 50 regions, in just three hours.
It also racked up 4.27 million streams on Spotify in just 24 hours, breaking the record of On the Ground of BLACKPINK's Rosé, which had 3.26 million streams during the period. To date, it's the only K-Pop soloist's song that has the most first-day streams.
Stay Alive also made its historic debut for a K-Pop soloist on Spotify's Global Top 50 the next day, at No. 3.
