Chappell Roan calls out fans for harassment, stalking: 'That’s not normal. That’s weird'
Chappell Roan slammed fans for their “creepy behavior,” emphasizing that her celebrity status does not mean it is okay to harass and stalk her online or in person.
The Good luck, Babe! singer took to her TikTok account to speak out against fans who believe they are entitled to certain behaviors when they encounter a famous person.
"I need you to answer questions; If you saw a random woman on the street, would you yell at her from the car window? Would you harass her in public?" she asked in her TikTok video.
"Would you go up to a random lady and say, 'Can I get a photo with you?' And she's like, 'No, what the f***?' and then you get mad at this random lady? Would you be offended if she says no to your time because she has her own time?" The singer continued.
"Would you stalk her family? Would you follow her around? Would you try to dissect her life and bully her online?" she added. "This is a lady you don’t know, and she doesn’t know you at all. Would you assume that she’s a good person? Assume she’s a bad person? Would you assume everything you read about her online is true?”

She added, “I’m a random bitch. You’re a random bitch. Just think about that for a second, OK?”
The 26-year-old artist went on to emphasize that she does not condone the normalization of “abuse and harassment” toward famous people, stating that this kind of attention is not acceptable.
“I don’t care that abuse and harassment, stalking, whatever, is a normal thing to do to people who are famous or a little famous,” she stressed in a separate video.
“I don’t care that it’s normal. I don’t care that this crazy type of behavior comes along with the job, [or] the career field I’ve chosen.” she lamented, adding, “That does not make it OK. That doesn’t make it normal. That doesn’t mean I want it. [That] doesn’t mean that I like it.”
The Red Wine Supernova singer went on, “I don’t want whatever the f--- you think you’re supposed to be entitled to whenever you see a celebrity. I don't give a f*** if you think it’s selfish of me to say no for a photo or for your time, or for a hug."

“That’s not normal. That’s weird. It’s weird how people think that you know a person just because you see them online and you listen to the art they make,” she said. “That’s f***ing weird. I’m allowed to say no to creepy behavior,” she concluded.
Before this, the singer had already addressed the same concern during her guest appearance on the podcast, The Comment Section with Drew Afualo.
"People have started to be freaks," she also said in the chat. "They follow me and know where my parents live and my sister, where my sister works, all this weird s***,” she lamented.
She added that she told herself she would consider quitting the industry if fans crossed the line, especially when it endangered her family.
"We're there," she said, adding: "I've like pumped the brakes on honestly anything to make me more known."
