Actor and singer Sam Concepcion made rounds online as social media users took note of his toned physique in a recent photo he shared on Instagram.

On Instagram, the 31-year-old singer shared a snap from his recent play, Once On This Island by 9 Works Theatrical, where he plays the role of Daniel opposite Kapuso singer Thea Astley.

"Fell in love with this show. Going to miss being on the island. Thanks @9workstheatrical for having me. It's been a blast!" he wrote in the caption.

In the photo, Sam donned a white tank top highlighting his toned arms. Fans and his friends couldn't help but swoom over his latest snaps.

"Grabeng braso!! Looking good, brother!!" Rocco Nacino commented.

"[I] was about to skip [the] gym when I saw this," one IG user said.

"The arms are arm-ing," another user quipped.

Dati references

Filipinos on X and Instagram couldn't help but unleash their playfulness and creativity as Sam's viral photo became the subject of memes. His buff physique had some users calling the actor "daddy" while referring to his hit 2022 song, Dati, with Tippy Dos Santos and Quest.

"Da-ra-rat-da daddy," one user said, as they changed the lyrics from "dati" to "daddy."

"Daddy daddy sabay pa nating pinangarap ang lahat," another added.

"'Di ba't ikaw nga 'yung reyna at ako ang iyong dzaddy."

Sam has since reacted to how his 2013 song is making the rounds in 2024.

"Every now and again nagiging meme pa rin ang dati," he wrote.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Manila Standard Entertainment, the pop singer also lauded how "witty" Filipinos are when it comes to making viral memes.

"I don’t know, but it’s really funny. Ang witty talaga ng mga Pilipino,” he told the media outlet.

The singer added, "I don’t know how to react to it yet, but my friends have been getting a lot of messages about it. It’s funny. To the person who did this, thank you."

Once On This Island is a Tony Award-winning Broadway musical that had a limited run in the Philippines from September 6 to September 29.

In addition to Sam, the play featured Thea Astley, who alternately plays the lead role with Angela Ken, Jef Flores as Daniel, Radha as Asaka, Lorenz Martinez as Papa Ge, and Kapuso celebrity Garrett Bolden as Agwe, the God of Water, among others.

This coming-of-age one-act stage musical was based on Rosa Guy's 1985 novel My Love, My Love or The Peasant Girl. It is a Caribbean-set retelling of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, The Little Mermaid.

The plot revolves around a "peasant" girl from the French Antilles who develops feelings for a wealthy lad and eventually forms a pact with the gods to ensure his survival.

In April, Sam also starred in PETA's One More Chance, The Musical, playing Popoy.
